The Long and Short of It

Haha... I crack myself up. Right.

So I cut my hair. I donated 10 inches to Locks of Love. It's really weird now... I haven't had it this short (shoulder length) since I was 13! I hated it for a few days, but now I'm slightly getting used to it and seeing the good side. And hey, God gave me my hair so it's really His to use for His glory, and I was just following that, so that's good! And when I think about it, I only gave up half my hair. The person who will get 10 inches of my hair will have lost ALL their hair. It's the least I can do. So I'm okay with it now. Even though it's not really "me," it will grow, and I guess it's sort of a cute style so I can live with it until it grows.

But I thought I'd give you all a heads up on this so that when you see me next, if you haven't already seen me in the past 3 days, you won't freak out. ;D

My sister recently donated I think twelve inches to Locks of Love. She has donated to them twice, and uh.. Yeah... I cannot think of anything else to add to that.

Ohhh, you're so punny! LOL!! ROFL!!! HAHAHA!!111one11one1! j/k ;-D Okay... I'm done. Sorry, I need sleep... I had better go to bed after this. Actually, the title is very good, lol.

So we won't freak out? What do you mean? I thought it looked very good. I couldn't tell you to do it one way or the other though... but I wouldn't be opposed to you deciding to keep it shorter like that.

I think it looks good short. It's really cute. Of course I can see how you might want to grow it out again.

By the way, your record post is now "Random thoughts about Mexico #4" at 1951 words. Just thought I'd point that out.

I haven't had much to say about the hair thing because part of my brain kept trying to analyze the whole situation from a mathematical standpoint. This part is very hard to ignore and doesn't realize that I'm perfectly capable of determining regrowth time of ten inches from a rate of one inch per month, should I wish to.

Anyway, I'm sure it looks great.

Just out of curiosity, where did you get your hair cut to donate it?

WHEE I'm famous! That looks suspiciously like a picture I remember seeing on YOUR camera, though, Eric....

Wow, they redid their website! There are movies, too... yay ours is up! I still wish I could see the one from last year again.... I never got my finished dvd.

I was really relieved to hear that they were alright after the hurricane. It's really sad about all the other people in the surrounding areas who really got hit by it, though.

Christina, I just got it cut at the place I normally get my haircut... you can do it anywhere, but you have to follow certain rules outlined on Locks of Love's website, here: http://www.locksoflove.org/

Ah, we all just got owned by Rachel... what language is that?

  • At 8/12/2005 9:40 AM, Blogger Rachel said…

Gaelic. You can tell because the words are really long and seemingly unpronounceable. :D But when it's spoken it's a million times shorter than it looks, and it all flows together really prettily.

    Mar sin leibh!

  • At 8/12/2005 9:40 AM, Blogger Rachel said…

Oh, and none of it's pronounced how it looks, either, lol. Except if you speak Gaelic, that is.

  • At 8/12/2005 2:08 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

What did it all mean exactly. I mean, I know you said the gist of it in English, but surely that was slightly abbridged.

  • At 8/12/2005 4:09 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

I tried to translate it but I couldn't find some of the words...

not is me certain the(?Gearmailtis?), or the Spanish also, but is me their (?smaoineachadh?) quickly said y'all are not (?robh?) me (?sgrìobhadh?) job frequent, and (?feumaidh?) me (?sgrìobhadh?) job.

    (?...?)=I couldn't find those words

  • At 8/12/2005 5:57 PM, Blogger Rachel said…

Lol, Joshua, good try, but whatever you used to translate it wasn't all that great with its words and didn't take into account the upside-down sentence structure of Gaelic (everything's phrased like a question... "it is me" in Gaelic would be, directly translated back to English, "is it me.").

So all that to say, what I said in Gaelic was:

"I don't understand German, or Spanish either, but I'm thinking that y'all said that I don't write posts often, and I need to write a new post."

  • At 8/12/2005 6:02 PM, Blogger Rachel said…

Oops... your translator did get something right that I didn't: Instead of "Chan eil mi cinnteach" it should be "Chan eil mi a' tuigsinn." I think... I'm not sure if that's the right form of the verb though.
